About the Role

Putting client-centred care into practice requires the backing of the whole organisation, we are looking for a passionate and committed Vasectomy Surgeons to join our team.

To provide safe, effective clinical services for patients undergoing vasectomy and associated care. To follow all reasonable instructions which fall within the scope of MSIUK’s Doctor’s Agreement, including ad hoc requests, utilising the skill, knowledge and judgement available to the practitioner accorded by their professional status. This includes an obligation to treat all clients, irrespective of who provided previous care, and to implement the specific techniques and procedures developed by MSIUK

About You

Skills

  • Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment, respecting and collaborating with all individuals equally, and with a commitment to overcome bias and prejudice
  • Good communication skills: Communicating effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Good bedside manner: Non - judgemental, treating patients with respect and empathy.
  • Good understanding of informed consent: Awareness of the social/emotional /domestic issues including safeguarding undermining consent.
  • Basic life support skills required in an emergency during a procedure under local anaesthesia.
  • Managing early and late post procedure problems, including telephone consultations.
  • Good record keeping skills: Awareness of the importance of accurate documentation of the procedure carried out, of drugs prescribed and administered, and of any events occurring during the patients’ visit.
  • Some surgical skills, preferably in sexual and reproductive health.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified medical doctor with full GMC registration and a license to practice
  • FRCS Post graduate qualification (desirable)
  • Professional indemnity
  • Current life support training
  • Willingness to train in FRCS, MFSRH or MRCGP SSM in Vasectomy

Contract type: Part Time -  Fridays - 7.5 hours

Salary: £87,290 - £126,876 (FTE)
