Description

About Us

Only when choice is a reality for each of us, can we create a better, more equal world for everyone. Here at MSI Reproductive Choices UK we are proud to be a social enterprise that is changing the world for the better, we reinvest and donate our profits towards creating a positive social change across 37 countries globally.

As one of the world’s leading providers of sexual and reproductive healthcare our aim is simple: to empower clients to make the reproductive choices that are right for them. That is what we mean by client-centred care.

At MSI, our client-centred care philosophy means respecting our clients as active partners in their own service, caring about who our clients are, their experiences, and how they feel before, during and after they access care with us.

We’re proud to be an equal opportunities employer and give equal consideration to all qualified applicants without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or age.

About the Role

Reporting to the Associate Clinical Director for Surgical Abortion, the ToP Surgeon provides safe and appropriate clinical care for clients undergoing first trimester and early second trimester abortion. The ToP Surgeon will provide safe, non-judgemental, and effective care for clients accessing services and will act within the guidelines of the General Medical Council, Care Quality Commission, Department of Health and Social Care, and other regulatory bodies to perform abortion care services.

ToP Surgeons are expected to work flexibly and collaboratively with other clinical and operational team members. ToP Surgeons are required to follow MSIUK’s policies, but where it is clinically necessary to deviate from established policies, rationale must be clearly documented in the client notes. If a ToP Surgeon declines to treat a client on grounds that are not in keeping with MSIUK’s pre-existing conditions guidelines (PECG) or other peers’ practice, it is expected that the ToP surgeon will agree to undertake additional experience and training where appropriate to ensure an equitable service is offered to MSIUK’s clients.
