Role: Termination of Pregnancy (ToP) Surgeon

Location: Greater London and Manchester

Contract type: Permanent or sessional

Salary: £100,449.76 - £113,382.67 FTE (dependant on experience)

             £800 - £1200 per day for sessional colleagues (dependant on experience)

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ToP Surgeon to join our team at MSI UK. As a ToP Surgeon, you will play a vital role in providing safe and appropriate clinical care for clients undergoing first and second trimester abortions. Your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional care that is safe, non-judgmental, and effective.

Reporting to the Associate Clinical Director for Surgical Abortion, you will be required to work flexibly and collaboratively with other clinical and operational colleagues. You will be required to act within the guidelines of the General Medical Council, Care Quality Commission, Department of Health and Social Care, and other regulatory bodies to perform abortion care services.

About You

To perform this role, it is essential that you have the following experience and skills:

  • Competent to perform first and second trimester surgical abortion, or committed to receiving comprehensive training to achieve competence   
  • Experience in sexual health, and general gynaecology is desirable.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment, respecting and collaborating with all individuals equally, and with a commitment to overcome bias and prejudice
  • Basic surgical skills
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication with good IT skills
  • Strong organisational skills especially relating to busy surgical lists

Qualifications

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
  • Membership of the relevant colleges i.e., Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists or Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health, or equivalent
