- Informed Consent: Understand the importance of informed consent, including social, emotional, and domestic considerations. Safeguarding and ensuring consent is paramount.
- Emergency Readiness: Possess basic life support skills to handle any unforeseen emergencies that may arise during procedures performed under local anaesthesia.
- Post-Procedure Care: Proficiently manage early and late post-procedure problems.
- Impeccable Record Keeping: Recognise the significance of accurate documentation. Maintain comprehensive records of procedures, prescribed, and administered drugs, and any events during patients' visits.
- Surgical Proficiency: Preferably bring some surgical skills, particularly in sexual and reproductive health.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified medical doctor with full GMC registration and a license to practice
- FRCS Post graduate qualification (desirable)
- Professional indemnity
- Current life support training
- Willingness to train in FRCS, MFSRH or MRCGP SSM in Vasectomy
